An Illustration of how we are to approach God

Romans chapter three is a perfect example of how we should approach God.  Left to our own devices we will lie, cheat, steal, destroy, slander, gossip and any other selfish act.  Once you realize that there is NO good inside of you, you can really understand what God's purpose is.  Everything good that comes to you is from God.  Everything that you do good, comes from God.  Apart from God we do not know what is good.  Give yourself over to Him completely.
